NDIS funding for community participation

Our community access and social and community participation supports are accessible through NDIS funding, making it easier for participants to engage in the community without added financial stress.

Program fees can be funded under the following NDIS support categories:

  • Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation

  • Assistance with Daily Life

  • Support Coordination (where applicable)

We handle all the necessary documentation and work closely with participants, families, and Support Coordinators to ensure all services are properly registered and claimed through the NDIS.

Our friendly team will guide you through the onboarding process, required documentation, and how to access your community participation supports in a way that suits your NDIS plan and personal circumstances. Whether you manage your own plan or work with a Support Coordinator, we make the process as simple and stress-free as possible.

What to know before getting started

To ensure the best possible experience with our community participation supports, please note the following:

  • Please notify us of any medical needs or medication requirements prior to commencing support

  • Clothing should be comfortable, practical, and appropriate for the planned community activities

  • All participants must complete their onboarding documentation prior to their first session

Our team will confirm all specific requirements during the booking and onboarding process and will ensure everything is in place before your first community outing.

Why choose OdysseyCare?

OdysseyCare was built on lived experience. Our Founder and Director, Leah Kolega, is a mother of four, one of whom is an NDIS participant. She built OdysseyCare to be the registered NDIS provider she wished had existed: genuine, reliable, compassionate, and truly focused on people.

That same commitment shapes every community participation program we deliver:

  • Tailored support and personalised plan: each participant receives a tailored plan built around their individual goals, interests, cultural background, and support requirements

  • Trauma-informed and person-centred practice: our team creates safe and empowering environments that promote independence and social inclusion

  • One on one support and group options: we provide flexible support arrangements to suit your comfort level and goals

  • Transport assistance: we help participants get to and from community activities safely and reliably

  • After-hours support: available beyond standard business hours where agreed

  • Qualified and passionate support workers: experienced, skilled, and genuinely committed to helping participants build confidence and live more independent lives

  • Strong community ties: deeply connected to local services, community organisations, social groups, and support services across Geelong and Melbourne

  • Building relationships that last: we focus on maintaining relationships between participants and their support workers for consistency and trust

We do not just provide support. We build the kind of meaningful connections that help participants feel truly part of their community.
