Our employment supports and capacity building programs across Geelong and Melbourne are designed to help NDIS participants prepare for, find, and maintain employment. We recognise that the journey to work looks different for everyone, which is why we provide tailored, one-on-one support to help you navigate the job market and build the independence required to thrive in a workplace.

OdysseyCare’s employment and capacity building services are delivered by dedicated support workers who focus on your unique strengths, interests, and career aspirations.

Whether you are a school leaver exploring your first job, looking to re-enter the workforce, or wanting to develop foundational life skills to increase your employability, we work alongside you to turn your goals into real-world outcomes.


Our programs are flexible, inclusive, and designed to encourage:

NDIS funded support


Our employment supports and capacity building programs can be accessed through NDIS funding, depending on participant goals and plan budgets.


Programs may be funded under:

  • Capacity Building: Finding and Keeping a Job

  • Capacity Building: Improved Learning

  • Capacity Building: Increased Social and Community Participation

  • Core Supports: Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation

Our team can assist with onboarding, service agreements, and understanding how your funding can be utilised to support your employment goals.

  • Please share your specific career interests, goals, and any support needs prior to starting

  • All onboarding documentation must be completed before services commence

  • We will work with you to create a structured, individualised employment support plan

Employment preparation & Skill building


We help participants build the foundational skills necessary to step into the workforce with confidence.

Supports may include:

  • Resume writing and cover letter preparation

  • Interview coaching and role-playing

  • Developing communication and workplace social skills

  • Public transport training to ensure reliable travel to work

  • Time management, routine building, and personal presentation

Finding & keeping a job


We provide hands-on assistance during the job hunt and offer ongoing support once you have secured a role to ensure long-term success.


Supports may include:

  • Assistance with job searching and submitting applications

  • Engaging with potential employers and exploring suitable roles

  • On-the-job support and mentoring to help you settle in

  • Advocating for workplace modifications or reasonable adjustments

  • Ongoing capacity building to help you manage workplace challenges

Absolutely. We provide dedicated school-to-work transition support. Moving from a school environment into the workforce is a major life stage, and our team is highly experienced in helping young people build the skills and independence needed to make that transition smooth and successful.

NDIS funded support

Our community nursing services can be accessed through an NDIS plan, depending on participant goals, medical condition, and funding categories.

NDIS community nursing supports may be funded under:

  • Daily Activities (Assistance with Daily Life)

  • Improved Health and Wellbeing

  • Improved Daily Living

  • Support Coordination

  • High Intensity Daily Personal Activities
     

Our team works closely with each participant, their NDIS planner, Support Coordinators, and family to ensure the right support is in place and funding is utilised effectively within their NDIS plan.

Important information

To support safe and effective community nursing care:

  • Please share all relevant medical history, diagnoses, and current treatment plans prior to commencement

  • A nursing assessment will be completed to develop an individualised care plan

  • All onboarding documentation must be completed before nursing supports begin

  • Any changes to a participant's medical condition or treatment should be communicated to our team promptly

  • Our team will liaise with GPs, specialists, and other healthcare providers as required
